Wednesday 15 June. Monemvasia

 We have a pre breakfast swim off the rocks below the town and see quite a large turtle bobbing around. Then breakfast on the lower terrace as the top one is in full sun. Oats with Greek yoghurt and fruit with Monemvasian honey and Greek coffee  

We cycle off to Poli beach but it’s a bit run down with no facilities so we head back to Ampelakia where we while away the day. Threatening clouds and thunder behind us send us back to base probably at about the time we would’ve come back anyway. 

The clouds come to nothing and we wander around the town in full heat. We are planning to eat down in the village overlooking Monemvasia   Ouzo on the top terrace by the bougainvillea is very pleasant.
