Monday 13 June. Elafonisos to Panagias beach.
Dogs rather than birds herald the new dawn. Quite a bit of cloud this morning but it looks as if it will clear.
We cycle off on the other road on the island. The one to the West. It leads to Panagias beach which is beautiful. And only 4 km away on a largely flat road. We pass a little chapel which is busy with worshippers, on a Monday? Maybe something to do with Greek Orthodox Pentecost. A lot of people are meant to be leaving the island today.
Not nearly as crowded as Simos we while away the day in a pleasant haze, reading, dozing and swimming. Delicious grilled sardines for lunch with some rosé and Greek salad. Snooze afterwards. We last until 6 pm then head home checking the ferry times for tomorrow’s departure at the harbour. We are planning supper at the unpromisingly named Butcher’s Grill but it has been recommended by the owner of Berdoussis.
