Groundhog Day

Well this is a holiday and there will be plenty of cycling days to come. So why not repeat a lovely day. Simon swims and makes nearly as graceless an exit from the sea as I did yesterday. Breakfast on the balcony and then a short cycle to Ritza beach again. As I say to Simon when you’ve found perfection why try to change it?! We are a little more surrounded by English today and witness a particularly dysfunctional family scene when a father is overheard criticising his daughter’s Botox. We’re not sure he will be able to redeem himself. It is reminiscent of an Anne Tyler novel one of which I have just enjoyed reading. Another delicious and relatively healthy lunch at Elies under the olive trees and another day slips by.

Tomorrow is 40 miles over the mountains so I am steeling myself.
