A day on the beach
Our early morning swim involves diving off a step. The ladder is at the bottom of the sea so the clamber out is not very glamorous. Fortunately there are no observers and the sea is refreshing. We breakfast on our balcony with supplies from the local supermarket: yoghurt, muesli, honey and fresh fruit. Perfect.
A short cycle to Rizza beach where we try to choose a sunbed away from the rather loud English lady from yesterday. All rather posh around here. We manage to while away the hours reading, swimming and basking interspersed with a spot of lunch at our favourite Elies shaded by olives and surrounded by oleander and hibiscus. Greek salad dips and delicious boiled greens which seem like a cross between spinach, chard and asparagus.
We hear thunder from the mountains but it comes to nothing as we pedal home before ouzo on the balcony. Not a bad life this!
We drink ouzo with ice on our balcony before a delicious meal at Psaras virtually on the beach with the sun setting. Beef stifado for me and local lamb slow cooked for Simon
